A little bit about The Bridge

The Bridge Inn, believed to be over 400 years old, is situated on the banks of the river Monnow in the delightful Monnow Valley. We have a beer garden stretching for 100m up the banks of the river with fantastic views of the Black Mountains, ideal for enjoying a pint while watching the sun set over the distant hills.

Licensees, Nick and Andi are committed to offering excellent beers, wines and spirits to accompany lovely home-cooked food at good value. Real ale, Sunday roasts and Andi's home-made puds are certainly our speciality.

PLEASE NOTE - We do not allow dogs into the pub (guide dogs excepted), but they are welcome in the garden provided they are kept on a lead.

The local countryside

We are lucky to be situated in the heart of the Monnow Valley, a natural border between England and Wales. The countryside is delightful, with rolling hills offering some lovely walks from gentle strolls to more arduous climbs for the more energetic!
Close by are the market towns of Ross-on-Wye, Abergavenny and Monmouth, we are also within 12 miles of Hereford with it's magnificent cathedral.

On our doorstep lies Kentchurch Court, recently featured in Channel 4's "Country House Revival", which is now open to the public on certain dates throughout the year - well worth a visit.
Within a couple of miles we also have Monmouthshire's "trilateral castles" - Grosmont, Skenfrith and Whitecastle where you can simply wonder at their magnificence or try the more strenuous 3 castles walk.

Our Food and Drink

Our al-a-carte menu comprises of a number of traditional "pub grub" offerings, and a selection of other dishes not quite so traditional! All of these are freshly made on the premises in our 5 star food hygiene rated kitchen. In addition to this we also offer specials which vary from night to night.

In addition to our normal menu we regularly run themed nights, which can vary from Oriental, Italian to Tapas nights. Details of these and their dates are regularly updated on our Facebook page.

Traditional Sunday lunches are also a big hit at The Bridge - we offer 3 courses for just £21.50, but for the smaller appetite you can have just one or two courses if required.

Andi's homemade puds are always very popular - particularly the cheesecakes where flavours vary from Toffee Fudge to White Chocolate and Raspberry!

We are proud to be featured in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and throughout the summer we always have 4 real ales available, with 2 usually from local breweries. These are supported by ciders, lagers, stout, and a wide range of soft drinks, spirits, all supported by an extensive wine list.
